Responsibilities:

Be the go-to expert for scaling core databases
Implement bulletproof backup and recovery processes
Optimize query performance like a pro
Perform database health checks and upgrades
Collaborate with the application team, provide valuable feedback, and automate deployment
Flex your skills in a 24×7 environment, handling emergency escalations when needed
Contribute to the design of new architectures and services

Requirements:

2+ years of PostgreSQL database administration experience
Deep understanding of SQL and query performance optimization
Experience with PostgreSQL replication, backup strategies, and tools
Strong knowledge of Linux systems, volume management, and bash scripting

Bonus Points:

Experience with other relational database systems (e.g., Oracle, MySQL/MariaDB)
Programming skills in Shell script, Python, or Perl
Knowledge of PostgreSQL monitoring tools and infrastructure support
Experience with Ansible (or other) automation
