About the Company

As part of their rapid expansion, they are looking to strengthen their Platform & Payments team by adding a talented Storage Systems Engineer to help manage and optimize enterprise storage infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Storage Infrastructure Management: Oversee and maintain enterprise-level storage systems (SAN, NAS, object storage, etc.) in both on-premises and cloud environments. Ensure reliability, high availability, and disaster recovery across all systems. Perform regular monitoring and optimization of storage capacity and performance.
  • System Configuration & Implementation: Lead configuration, deployment, and integration of new storage hardware and software. Execute migration projects, installations, and troubleshooting tasks effectively.
  • Vendor Solutions: Manage and optimize storage platforms, particularly solutions from leading vendors like Dell EMC and Pure Storage.
  • Backup & Recovery: Develop and maintain robust backup strategies, ensuring data integrity and rapid recovery in case of failure.
  • Security & Compliance: Implement security protocols to safeguard storage systems, including encryption and access controls. Ensure compliance with industry standards such as GDPR or similar regulations.
  • Networking Integration: Work closely with networking teams to integrate storage solutions using technologies such as iSCSI, VLANs, firewalls, and load balancers.
  • Operating Systems Management: Optimize storage solutions within Windows Server and Linux environments, including virtualized infrastructures.
  • Scripting & Automation: Automate processes for storage management and monitoring using tools like PowerShell, Python, or Ansible.
  • Documentation: Develop and maintain detailed documentation on storage architecture and system configurations.

Requirements

  • A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in enterprise storage engineering or architecture.
  • Expertise in SAN, NAS, DAS, SDS, and related technologies.
  • Strong experience with Dell EMC and Pure Storage platforms.
  • In-depth knowledge of RAID levels, disk configurations, and data replication.
  • Hands-on expertise in backup and disaster recovery strategies, including snapshot and replication tools.
  • Familiarity with Windows Server and Linux systems in virtualized environments.
  • Knowledge of networking protocols such as iSCSI, as well as experience with VLANs, firewalls, and load balancers.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, PowerCLI, Python, Ansible).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
